Emmanuel College middle blocker Julie de Blanck has been named Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played during the week of Aug. 24-26. The player of the week award is the first for Emmanuel College in any sport.
The women are among the record 581 athletes nominated this year.
In addition to the Division I indoor champions Nebraska (above), Division I beach champions UCLA, Division II indoor champions Concordia – St. Paul, and NAIA champions Lindsey Wilson College were also honored.
Of the 11 men’s volleyball players eligible after being selected Academic All-District, nine received Academic All-America honors this week. One beach volleyball player also was honored.
