Class of 2019 outside hitter Liana Guillemaud has verbally committed to the University of Southern Mississippi women’s volleyball program.
Standing at 5’11”, Guillemaud attends Lovejoy High School in Texas and is a senior for the 2018-2019 school year. As a junior she helped the team collect a 40-11 record en route to a State Regional Finals appearance. For the team, she recorded 135 kills (1.9 per set) on a .170 hitting percentage, 35 digs (0.5 per set), 14 blocks (0.2 per set) and one ace according to her MaxPreps profile.
On the club circuit, Guillemaud plays with Dallas Premier Volleyball Club – most recently the 17 Black team as an outside hitter and right side. She owns a 7’3″ standing reach, a 9′ block touch and a 9’6″ approach jump.
It’s not the first recruit that Southern Miss has landed and has been registered in the VolleyMob Recruiting Database for the class of 2019 either. Guillemaud will join 2019 commit/middle blocker Kess Krutsinger as well.
Southern Miss is coming off of a 20-12 finish to the 2017 season when they went 9-5 as a member of the Conference USA. They have seven players on their 2018 roster who can fill the outside hitter position, with one senior set to graduate prior to Guillemaud’s arrival and three more as juniors who will be on their last leg come 2019.
