An Australian volleyball coach has been arrested and accused of sending sexually explicit messages online to a 15-year-old he met at a tournament.
24-year-old Brad Wall was arrested last week, according to The Daily Telegraph. Sex Crimes Squad detectives found Wall at a golf club, and after arresting him, investigators executed a search warrant on nearby home, confiscating a computer, a phone and “electronic storage devices.”
Wall was a coach at Barker College in Sydney. He’s represented New South Wales in volleyball at the junior level. Authorities say Wall met the boy at an “interstate sports carnival,” and continued contacting him via social media. Police say that communication eventually turned to sexually explicit messages.
He’s been charged with “use carriage service to transmit indecent communication to a person under 16” and “use carriage service for child pornographic material.” The Telegraph reports that Wall has been suspended from his post at Barker college, also his alma mater. Barker was also an assistant coach at the NSW Manly Center of Excellence.
He’ll appear in court next month, with a court date set for October 25.
