The Minnesota Women’s Volleyball program is getting an early jump on its class of 2022, as outside hitter Mckenna Wucherer has committed to the team. A current eighth grader, Wucherer will attend high school next year before waiting four years to become a Golden Gopher.
Wucherer, a native of Brookfield, Wisconsin, attends St. Joseph’s Catholic School as an eighth grader for the time being and also plays with the Milwaukee Sting 14 Gold on the club side.
Last April, Wucherer was named to the Badger Region High Performance Training Squad, specifically with the Girls’ National Select Training Camp.
Her older sister, Miranda Wucherer, is a senior at Brookfield Central High School and is committed to playing at Northern Kentucky next season. Her other sister, Abbigal, was also listed on the Girls National Select Training Camp Selections. Miranda was also the one to send out the congratulatory tweet about Mckenna’s commitment to Minnesota:
Congrats to Kenny for committing to play volleyball for the University or Minnesota!!! So proud of you and Go Gophs? @GopherVBall #2022 pic.twitter.com/ZpbdrzxKey
