Class of 2018 recruit Hannah Yaconis has committed to the Akron University women’s volleyball program in the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Yaconis is a 6’0″ middle blocker from Illinois.
A senior at Batavia High School, Yaconis helped her squad to a 22-14 season as a senior. Individually, she notched 222 kills (2.7 per set) on a .288 hitting percentage to go with 73 blocks (0.9 per set) and 43 digs (0.5 per set) according to her MaxPreps profile.
Yaconis also plays on the club circuit with Sports Performance VBC and the 18 Navy team. Video of some of her highlights can be seen below via YouTube:

Akron is coming off of a 6-22 season in 2017 in which they went 2-13 in MAC play. They had three middle blockers on last year’s roster, but two were seniors. That means both depart the program, including starter Jessica Kloehn, leaving Yaconis an opportunity to slide into a starting role next to returning Ashley Richardson.
Exited to announce my commitment to play volleyball at Akron university! Thank you to everyone who has helped me get to where I am today!! #gozips pic.twitter.com/cEyEIVo0Ct
