Class of 2019 recruit Faith Savage has verbally committed to the University of Alabama Birmingham (UAB) women’s volleyball program. A 5’4″ defensive specialist/libero, Savage would join UAB as a freshman for the fall of 2019 season.
Savage was a junior at Stockdale High School this past season, with her senior season starting in the fall. She was 3A Second-Team All-District in 2015 before moving up to the first-team in 2016 and earning the 2017 3A Defensive Specialist of the Year award.
On the club circuit, Savage plays with San Antonio Magic Volleyball – specifically the 17 Elite team after playing with the 16 Elite team. In her club career, she had some of her best team victories in 2016 when she was a part of teams that won the Junior National USA Division Championship and the Lone Star Classic USA Division Championship.
Video of her play via her club from that 16 team can be seen below.
UAB is coming off of an 11-19 season in which they went 4-10 as a member of the Conference USA. They have two defensive specialists/liberos returning to their 2018 roster with one set to graduate following next year and open up a spot for 2019.
