Class of 2021 middle blocker and right side MaKenna Schafer has committed to the Ohio University women’s volleyball program.
Standing at 6’1″, Schafer is currently in her sophomore season at Huron High School in Ohio. They’ve only played one match this season, but Schafer logged six kills on a .667 hitting percentage and one block in three sets during a win.
In her freshman year on the varsity team, according to her MaxPreps profile, Schafer notched 108 kills (1.3 per set) on a .242 clip, 69 blocks (0.8 per set) and 24 digs (0.3 per set).
Club wise, Schafer plays for Cleveland Volleyball Company, most recently the CVC 15 Black team. Highlights of her play from the 2018 Nationals 15 Open can be seen below via her Hudl page:
Ohio is currently 1-2 this season. They are coming off of a 16-14 finish to the 2017 season in which they went 11-5 as a member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC).
