#2 Stanford Handles #16 Washington in Straight Sets

2nd-ranked Stanford extended its win streak to 14 in a row with a victory in straight sets against 16th-ranked Washington inside Maples Pavilion. The Cardinal, which has won 27 consecutive home matches, is perfect in Pac-12 play at 8-0.

To secure the win, Stanford outperformed Washington in attack percentage (.371 to .112), on the block (11 to 7) and at the service line (4 to 2). The Huskies committed 21 attack errors, while the Cardinal limited miscues to 12 in the match.

Stanford started strong, charging ahead 5-1 in the opening set. The Cardinal maintained the momentum throughout, scoring 5 of the final 7 points to earn the 25-16 win.

A 9-2 stretch in the 2nd set kept the energy with the Cardinal, which held off a push by the Huskies to record the 25-20 victory.

In the 3rd set, Washington pulled ahead 5-3 early before Stanford used a 5-0 run to regain control. The Cardinal held off the Huskies from there, earning the sweep with a 25-18 win.

The Cardinal has won 56 of the 71 meetings all-time against the Huskies and own a 6-4 edge in the last 10 matches of the series.

Kathryn Plummer continues to lead the Cardinal, contributing 17 kills and hitting .483. Audriana Fitzmorris also added 10 kills and 4 blocks, while hitting .556. Jenna Gray distributed 38 assists and served up 3 aces, while Morgan Hentz logged 14 digs and Holly Campbell tallied 6 blocks.

Samantha Dreschel and Kara Bajema each registered double figure kill totals with 11 and 10, respectively, for Washington. Ella May Powell posted 27 assists, while Lauren Sanders notched 3 blocks.
