The Gonzaga Bulldogs garnered the commitment of Tia Andaya, a 2019 recruit from Washington. Andaya is heading into her junior season at Ellensburg High School and also plays for The CRÚ Volleyball Club.

Andaya becomes the eighth member of The CRÚ Volleyball Club’s 18 Baden Team to commit to play collegiate volleyball. This past January, the team finished fifth at the Matt Hartner Memorial tournament in Eugene, Oregon.
The Baden Team also took 23rd at the Triple Crown NIT, which you can see highlights from Andaya (wearing number eight in white) via her coach and mother’s (Mario Andaya) YouTube page.
In her sophomore season at Ellensburg High School, Andaya amassed 257 assists, 244 kills, 156 digs, 32 blocks and 22 aces in 67 sets of play. She helped lead her team to a 15-4 record and an undefeated CWAC record en route to a spot in the state playoffs where they made the quarterfinals.
Gonzaga has maintained themselves as a strong program in the West Coast Conference as they collected a 17-11 (10-8 WCC) season in 2016. They currently have three setters on the roster (one also being a right side hitter), but by the time Andaya heads to the team in 2019, one will have graduated.
