Class of 2020 defensive specialist/libero Ellie Bolton has committed to Creighton University. A 5’7″ sophomore from Lenexa, Kansas, Bolton won’t have to travel too far to arrive in Omaha.

An attendee of St. James Academy, Bolton helped her team to a 39-6 (7-2 District) record in winning the Kansas Class 5A State Championship.

Individually, Bolton – in her second year of varsity – notched a whopping 602 digs (6.1 per set) to go with 42 assists (0.4 per set) and 29 aces (0.3 per set). That came after she was more of a rotational piece as a freshman when she logged 247 digs (2.3 per set) in 2016.

On the club side of things, Bolton plays with Kansas City Power and the 16-1 team. Last year with her KC Power 15s club, she helped the team collect an 11th place finish at the 2017 USAV Nationals. Video of her play with the bunch can be seen below:

Creighton is coming off of a 26-7 (16-2 Big East) record in which they won the conference and earned the ninth overall seed for the NCAA Tournament. They have three defensive specialists returning for 2018, with all but one set to graduate by the time Bolton arrives.
