#21 Michigan State rolled through San Diego State in three sets at the Spartan Invitational. The win added up to be head coach Cathy George’s 600th in her career.

The Spartans began the match by jumping to a 15-5 lead, with SDSU trying to make a comeback at the set late, holding Michigan State at three set points but were unable to keep it going, losing 25-17. The second set started out in a tight match before the Spartans took the set on a strong 6-1 run to lead 10-5, this lead was too much for SDSU to handle, dropping the second 25-14.
The final set of the match started off with a 13-2 run for the Spartans early, but a number of mini runs for SDSU brought the game slightly closer. The starting run was overall too much for SDSU to handle, along with a strong Michigan State offense, with the Spartans collecting the sweep with a third set score of 25-17.
Leading for Michigan State was Brooke Kranda with 10 kills on a .444 hitting clip, two aces and three blocks. Holly Toliver and Autumn Bailey each contributed eight kills in the win while Alyssa Garvelink put down seven kills and five blocks.
For SDSU, Hannah Turnland put down eight kills to lead the squad with Devyn Pritchard picking up a match-best 12 digs.
