This week, Missouri State’s Lily Johnson put up some insane numbers to earn herself the AVCA Division I Player of the Week.

The Bears played in a total of nine sets over two matches, winning over Drake in five and #20 Northern Iowa in four. For the week, Johnson posted 5.56 kills, 5.56 digs and 0.67 blocks per set on a .270 hitting performance.

Against Drake, Johnson slammed down 28 kills and a career-best 32 digs – this feat makes her the second player in program history to notch 25 kills and 30 digs in a single match. Following up her historic match against Drake, Johnson put down another 22 kills and 18 digs in the team’s upset victory over Northern Iowa.

This is not the only award that Johnson has scooped up this week, as she was named the Missouri Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week and the VolleyMob Player of the Week. This is Johnson’s second VolleyMob Player of the Week honor.

Johnson is the first player for Missouri State to garner the award.
