A freshman with promise is no longer listed on the William & Mary roster as the 2018 edition will be without Taylor Heishman. It’s unclear for the reasoning behind her being left off the 2018 roster – whether she is retiring, transferring or something else.
A 6’1″ middle blocker, Heishman appeared in 62 sets as a true freshman in 2017. She totaled 29 kills (.083), 29 blocks and six digs, with her career highs for kills (five) and blocks (four) in one match coming early in the year.
A native of Winchester, Virginia, Heishman attended James Woods High School and played with Dulles on the club side in her prep career. She was an All-Region Team member in her final two seasons at James Woods and All-Conference three times while she earned plenty of other awards in her other play.
William & Mary, who went 5-25 (2-14 CAA) last season, will now move on with three returning middle blockers on their 2018 roster. Two of those three are sophomores who started a combined 43 matches last season, led by Julia Brown (30 starts).
