Class of 2020 recruit Emily Wilcox has verbally committed to the Eastern Illinois University women’s volleyball program. A middle blocker and right side, Wilcox would join the team for her freshman season in the fall of 2020.
Standing at 6’1″, Wilcox recently completed her sophomore season at Homestead High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she will be a junior for the 2018-2019 academic year. In her last campaign, she helped the team to a 20-13 record in which the Spartans made the 2017-18 IHSAA Class 4A State Volleyball Sectional Semifinals.
Additionally, Wilcox extends her prep career with Empowered Volleyball Academy. Video of Wilcox’s play can be seen here via her SportsRecruits page.
The Panthers are coming off of a 15-15 season in 2017 that included an 8-8 mark as a member of the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC), where they made the league tournament semifinals. The current 2018 roster for Eastern Illinois has four right sides and four middles with two and one respectively set to still be eligible by the time 2020 comes.
