China looks to cement their way into the finals of Group 2 in a match against Japan. The two Asian teams have not faced each other yet in the World League, but will both be looking to secure their places in the finals.
Japan sits with a 5-3 record going into the match with 15 points overall. The win will secure their place in the finals of the World League. Japan’s Masahiro Yanagida has led the Japanese side with 108 points in the competitions on 85 kills, five blocks and a competition high 18 aces. Japan is coming off a five-set loss to Australia on the second day of Pool G2 play with Haku Ri and Issel Otake leading the squad with 16 points each.
For China, they are sitting at a 4-4 record going into the match, needing a win to give them a good chance at the finals. Chuan Jiang has led the squad throughout the tournament, having posted 140 points, muscling down 114 kills, 12 blocks and 14 aces, the second best in the World League Group 2 play. The Chinese teams will look to keep their winning streak going, after taking down Turkey in three-sets.
