Belgium Takes Out France In Friendly, One More To Be Played On Sat.

In preparation for the FIVB Women’s World Championship qualifiers, Belgium and France competed in a friendly match to get ready. Belgium was able to take down France in four sets.

  • Belgium def. France 3-1, (25-23, 22-25, 25-17, 25-16)

For Belgium, Kaja Grobelna ended the match with 19 points while Lucille Gicquel scored 18 points for France.

In the World Championship qualifiers, Belgium will be in Pool D, where they will take on Italy, Belarus, Spain, Latvia and Bosnia and Herzegovina from May 31 to June 4. France will compete in Pool F against Portugal, Germany, Finland, Slovenia, and Estonia.

The match served as Felix Andres first match at the head coaching position, where he was able to get a feel for his new players and what they could do.

The two teams will meet again on May 20 for a second friendly match before the qualifiers begin.
