The Bradley Braves women’s volleyball program has made two additions to its future rosters, as they tack on a pair of recruits from the state of Illinois and Missouri, respectively. The duo of newcomers are outside hitter Rachel Pranger – who will join the team for the 2018 season – and middle blocker Karagan Coggin – whose first season will come in the fall of 2019.

Pranger is a senior at Edwardsville High School in the St. Louis area, in which she showed her athleticism as a duel-sport star. She became the only player in school history to net over 1,000 kills in volleyball and 1,000 points in basketball. In just volleyball, the 6’0″ outside hitter totaled 1,220 career kills (second in school history), 1,142 digs (third in school history) and 151 block assists (fifth in school history).

Joining Pranger is Coggin, a 6’1″ middle blocker from Lafayette High School in Wildwood, Missouri. According to her MaxPreps profile, Coggin recorded 90 kills (1.2 per set) on a .274 mark to go with 95 blocks (1.2 per set) and 74 digs (1.0 per set) this past season. On some sites she is listed as a senior in high school, but her club – Rockwood Thunder – notes her as being a class of 2019 commit, meaning she would be a junior.

Bradley is coming off of a 10-22 season in which they went 3-15 playing in the Missouri Valley Conference. They graduate two from their 2017 group of five outside hitters for Pranger to slide into while two of their middles would be on pace to exhaust their eligibility following 2018 prior to Coggin’s arrival.
