Following a 2-0 week that included a ranked victory on the road, BYU’s Veronica Jones-Perry is taking home the latest West Coast Conference Player of the Week award.
A junior outside hitter for the Cougars, Jones-Perry led the way for BYU averaging 4.50 kills, 2.00 digs, 0.88 blocks and 0.63 assists per set. Against Pepperdine, Jones-Perry logged 23 kills and nine digs, which was followed up with a 13 kill, 7 dig, four block performance at the Jenny Craig Pavillion in San Diego.
The Cougars went 2-0 for the week with wins over Pepperdine and at #25 San Diego. The pair of victories pushed BYU’s overall record to 15-1 and 4-0 in conference play as Jones-Perry continues to lead the way with 267 kills (4.53 per set) for both her team and the conference offensively.
The award is the second of its kind that Jones-Perry has earned this season after she won the accolade for her performance in week two as well.
