Class of 2019 recruit Haley Hoang has verbally committed to Northwestern State to join the women’s indoor volleyball program. A defensive specialist/libero, Hoang will start her college career in the fall of 2019.

A junior at Plano West High School in Texas, Hoang helped her team to a 30-14 season as part of the varsity squad. Individually, according to her MaxPreps profile, Hoang logged over three digs per set and nearly half an ace per set as well. Her performance was enough for her to be awarded Texas 6-6A All-District Defensive Player of the Year as well as being on the first-team.

On the club circuit, Hoang plays with Texas Advantage Volleyball Club – specifically the TAV 17 Black team. Her recruiting profile can be seen here via SportsRecruits. Video of her play from when she was on the TAV 16 Black team can also be seen below:

Northwestern State is coming off of a 15-17 season in which they went 10-6 playing in the Southland Conference. They have four players who can play either defensive specialist or libero in 2018, with one OH/L graduating following the season and the others on pace to return in 2019 to join Hoang at the position group.
