Class of 2019 defensive specialist and libero Kayla Tello has verbally committed to the Texas State women’s volleyball program.
A 5’6″ senior-to-be in the fall at Hays High School in Buda, Texas, Tello most recently completed her junior season in which the team went 28-13. Individually in her second season of varsity, according to her MaxPreps profile, Tello logged 532 digs (4.7 per set), 50 assists (0.4 per set) and 48 aces (0.4 per set).
On the club circuit, Tello plays with Austin Performance Volleyball and the AP Asics 17 team. She’s also played in the sand at the AVP Tournament in Austin, finishing 5th in the Girls 18U Division in both May and April.
Tello’s Hudl page can be seen here with plenty of video links to her play seen here via her SportsRecruits profile.
It’s not the first class of 2019 commitment for Texas State that has been registered in the VolleyMob Recruiting Database either, as Tello joins outside hitter Courtney Heiser and DS/L Michelle Foster.
Texas State finished the 2017 season at 25-10 overall and 14-2 as a member of the Sun Belt Conference before appearing in the NIVC Tournament and making the second round.
