The Lamar University women’s volleyball program has garnered the commitment of Annika Slovak, a class of 2019 setter recruit.
An attendee of Pearce High School in Richardson, Texas, Slovak is in her senior season. As a junior she was 1st Team All-District 9-6A. She also earned All-District 2nd Team and All-City Most Valuable Setter as a sophomore and All-City plus All-District Honorable Mention as a freshman in 2015 when she helped the team to the Regional Tournament.
Standing at 5’7″, Slovak is also right-handed. Her Hudl profile can be seen here. Highlight video of her play can be seen below.
On the club scene, Slovak played for Excel Volleyball and the 17 Red team as a junior. She also appeared with Dallas Skyline Juniors where she was MVP of Skyline 15 Black and had the most assists on the team.
Lamar has started the 2018 season at 3-6. In 2017 they went 4-22 overall and 2-14 as a member of the Southland Conference. In terms of their roster, they have two setters – a junior and freshman – set to be back to join Slovak at the position come the fall of 2019.
