Class of 2020 recruit Sophia Lambros has committed to the Boston College women’s indoor volleyball program. A 5’11” setter from California, Lambros will join the Eagles for her freshman season in the fall of 2020.

A sophomore at Rosary Academy in Fullerton, California, Lambros has been with the varsity team for two seasons now. In her freshman year she was named the team’s rookie of the year before adding to her play this past season.

“We are beyond excited to announce that sophomore Sophia Lambros has officially committed to Boston College,” Rosary Academy head coach Filip Tomicic said in the team’s announcement of the signing. “What better news can you ask for? Sophia’s hard work and dedication is definitely paying off. We are so proud of you, Sophia, and the way you are demonstrating what being a Royal is all about. The sky is the limit for you so keep climbing and reaching your goals!”

Lambros also plays with the Laguna Beach Volleyball Club and the 16s team most recently. She is also the first player on her club team to commit to her college of choice.

Boston College is coming off of a 7-23 season in which they went 4-16 in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). All three of the setters on their 2017 roster are set to return for 2018, with a pair of the trio graduating by the time Lambros arrives in 2020.
