In Colorado State’s sweep over New Mexico, senior Jasmine Hanna hit a career milestone by posting her 1,000th kill. Hanna sits at 1,007 kills in her career and is just 59 kills behind the kills leader, Megan Plourde (2008-12) in the modern, rally scoring era.

“It’s terrific. It gives her a milestone that not very many players have reached,” said head coach Tom Hilbert.

Hanna has had a very successful career with Colorado State, being a dominant force for the team in each of her three previous seasons. In her freshman campaign, Hanna put down 328 kills on a .221 hitting clip. The following season she added another 220 kills to her tally and 323 in her junior campaign. Hanna is on pace to surpass Plourde’s record this season, barring injury, having posted 136 kills so far this season.

Hanna’s recent 15 kills against New Mexico puts her at nine double-digit kill performances this season while carrying a .324 hitting percentage.

In her career, Hanna has amassed a number of honors with Colorado State including being named to the All-Mountain West Conference team in 2016. Additionally, she was tabbed the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week on October 10, 2016 and was named to the Rams Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team in 2016.

This season, Colorado State has turned in some impressive wins, starting with then-ranked #15 Florida State, winning in three with Hanna slamming down 15 kills. Just two matches later the squad upended then-ranked #16 Michigan in straight sets as well, with Hanna contributing seven kills and no errors.

The Buffalos will continue Mountain West play with UNLV on Saturday, September 23 followed by a match at Wyoming on September 26.
