After taking the interim position for the German women’s national team, Felix Koslowski is offered a full-time position with the team.
The team has a busy 2017 schedule including the qualifications for the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in Japan, the FIVB World Grand Prix and the European Championships. As well as his workd with the national team, Koslowski will continue to coach with SSC Palmberg Schwerin.
“The decision shows the federation’s confidence in me. I started coaching to earn some extra money but didn’t dream that I would one day end up as national team coach,” said Koslowski.
Koslowski has been involved with coaching within German Federation teams since 2006, having worked under former coach Giovanni Guidetti for nine years. Seven of the members on his Palmberg Schwerin team are a part of the national squad.
“It is a great advantage that I know all the processes, the people in the Federation and in the Bundesliga,” said Koslowski. “I have very good contacts within the league and know of course the players’ potential in Germany. This makes it much easier for me than someone else.”
The German squad will compete in the European World Championship Qualifier in Portugal from May 30-June 4, where they are set to take on hosts – Estonia, Finland, France and Slovenia. The FIVB World Grand Prix begins a month later from July 7-30, followed by the European Championship that takes place in Georgia and Azerbaijan from September 20-October 1.
