Lehigh has announced Alexa Keckler as the program’s new head coach. Keckler brings 13 years as a collegiate head coach, including the past 8 years with Muhlenberg College.
With Muhlenberg, Keckler compiled a 141-96 record and now owns a 237-151 overall record in her career. Prior to her time with Muhlenberg, she was the head coach of Gettysburg College where she won a conference title and led the team to 5 straight postseason appearances. Both Muhlenberg and Gettysburg were in the Centennial Conference, where Keckler ranks 3rd with 88 conference wins and ranks 4th with 7 wins in conference postseason matches.
Prior to her collegiate coaching days, Keckler was the head coach of numerous high schools and club teams. In 2002, she took her alma mater, Smithsburg High School to an 18-2 record and led Littlestown High School to an 18-5 record and a district playoff appearance in 2004.
“Alexa stood out from the other candidates because of her personal and professional energy. Those who met her recognized her energetic personality and her competitive spirit,” said Associate Director of Athletics Stacy Shiffert.
This past season, Lehigh went 18-13 and 9-7 in conference play. The Mountain Hawks made the Patriot League Tournament, losing to American in the first round 3-0.
