2017 FIVB WORLD LEAGUE – POOL F1
- June 9th-11th, 2017
- Palais des Sports de Pau, Pau, France
- Schedule/Results
France will look to remain perfect as they began match number five against Italy.
The French side has yet to play a fifth as they swept Bulgaria and Argentina. Just like the first match with Russia, France ended the match in a four set victory. France is the only team yet to lose and with every match ending in four or less, they’ve collected the maximum of 12 points.
Italy, on the other hand, ranks 11th of the 12 team Group 1. Their one victory over Iran was a three-set sweep, with losses to Poland and Brazil in four. Yesterday, Italy fell in three sets to the United States as they’re reeling with a current three-match losing streak.
These two sides matched up at the 2016 FIVB World League in the third place match. Although every set was close, France swept: 25-23, 25-21, 25-20. These two countries are trending in opposite directions right now, but with a rematch of that high-stakes 2016 game, you can throw the records out the window.
France vs. Italy starts at 2:30 Eastern Time in the U.S., and can be watched, for free, in its entirety below:
