Louisville Cardinals Fly by Chattanooga

Louisville def. Chattanooga 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-14)

After falling to Kentucky last night, Louisville earned a dominant home victory in straight sets over Chattanooga on Saturday afternoon to close out its non-conference slate. The Cardinals overcame the Mocs with a .396 attack percentage and 6-2 blocking edge.

The Cardinals opened the match with a 6-1 stretch and used a 5-0 run late to key a 25-17 victory in the first set.

The second set was a competitive one early, as 7 tie scores came before the Cardinals took over with a 5-0 rally. Louisville led by as much as 9 and secured a 25-18 win for a 2-0 advantage in the match.

The third set was also close early before the Cardinals registered 4-straight scores to pull ahead, 15-8. Louisville ended the sweep and the set at 25-14, with a 5-0 closing run.

Amanda Green (14 kills, 10 digs, .591 attack percentage) posted a double-double, while Megan Sloan added 12 kills and hit .400 to guide the Cardinals to victory. Molly Sauer notched 15 digs, while Wilma River logged 36 assists.

Miranda Elpers tallied a career-high 14 kills and hit .414 for the Mocs, returning to her hometown with Chattanooga for the match. Megan Kaufman recorded 12 digs and Jaquelyn Langhaim posted 26 assists.
