Tonight Wisconsin will take part in their annual cardinal and white scrimmage, with a huge recruiting class coming in and players making comebacks from injuries. One player who has been struggling with an injury in the offseason is Molly Haggerty.
Haggerty had a huge freshmen season for the Badgers, being named an AVCA Third Team All-American, the AVCA Northeast Region Freshman of the Year, the Big Ten Freshman of the Year among many. Last season, Haggerty put down 385 kills on a .239 hitting percentage, while adding 276 digs and 50 blocks.
In the offseason, Haggerty underwent surgery to repair a herniated disk in her lower back, which caused her to have to sit out during the sprint. In the spring, she was released back into light exercise but suffered a recurrence of the initial injury.
Preseason began last week, with Haggerty taking her first swings since preseason.

The upcoming scrimmage will not feature a returned Haggerty to the court, though it is uncertain if her injury is to blame for her absence. Tonight, Wisconsin will take the court at 6:30 PM at the UW Field House with free admission. The Badgers will officially begin their 2017 campaign when they host the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on August 25-26.
Molly will not be playing & giving Gilly the night off. Everyone else will be suited up & playing. Hope to see you tonight @ 6:30 in the FH.
