Class of 2019 recruit Jadyn Bauss has committed to the Southern Methodist University (SMU) women’s volleyball program. A native to Texas, the 6’0″ tall Bauss plays both pins as an outside hitter and right side.
A junior at Reedy High School in Frisco, Texas, Bauss helped her school to a 24-12 season in 2017. According to her MaxPreps profile, she notched 228 kills (2.09 per set) on a .333 hitting percentage, 96 digs (0.88 per set), 85 blocks (0.78 per set) and 27 aces (0.25 per set) this past year.
Club wise, Bauss plays with Dallas Premier Volleyball and the 17 Black team. She owns a 7’7″ standing reach, a 9’9″ block touch and a 10’1″ approach jump. Video of her play can be seen below via her YouTube channel:
SMU went 21-11 in 2017, including a 15-5 finish playing in the American Athletic Conference (AAC). The 2018 roster consists of three returning outside hitters plus any newcomers in the fall – with two at the position who are seniors. That means some playing time could be open for Bauss come her first season in the fall of 2019.
