Toray Arrows Defeats Trefuerza In Finals Of Japanese Men’s V League

Last month, Toray Arrows was able to take the top of the podium in the Japanese men’s V League with a finals series sweep over Toyota Gosei Trefuerza.

Toray Arrows went 15-6 in regular season play, with Trefuerza doing the same, but holding the top spot with more point deferential than Toray. Trefuerza earned their spot in the finals with a series sweep over JTEKT with three set sweeps in each of the two matches.

The first meeting of the two in the finals was a three set sweep for Toray Arrows 3-0, (25-23, 25-20. 30-28). Trefuerza pushed Toray in the last set of the match, forcing five extra points for the team to secure the three set victory.

In the final match of the best-of-three series, Toray was able to secure their V League championship with a four set 3-1, (25-20, 23-25, 25-16, 25-23) victory over Trefuerza. Trefuerza was able to take one set off of Toray in the finals, but Toray came back to take the match.
