Diatec Trentino finished in the top-four of the Italian Men’s League with an 18-8 record and are looking to improve their roster for the 2018-19 season by showing interest in the league’s top scorer, Dusan Petkovic.
Petkovic currently plays for Biosi Indexa Sora who ended the season with a 4-22 record and 13th in the league. Despite the poor season the team had as a whole, Petkovic was the continual shining star for the squad. In total, Petkovic posted 508 points in the regular season with four 30+ point showings. Just twice did he not reach double-digit scoring all season.
The Serbian tore up the league despite being apart of a struggling team, regularly being the top performer of the match. Biosi Indexa Sora’s poor season this year is not an uncommon feat though, as the squad took 13th place in the league during the 2016-17 season with a 6-20 record.
Trentino would be immensely served with the addition of Petkovic as they have a solid line-up in place already. The team features Uros Kovacevic, Nicholas Hoag, Filippo Lanza and Eder Carbonera to name a few. Trentino finished in second place in the league during the 2016-17 season and have paired up to play against Calzedonia Verona in the quarterfinals of the playoffs for the league, taking the first win in a dramatic five-set battle. The team is also among the final 12 teams of the Champions League that are set to begin the Playoffs 12 this week.

Petkovic is a great player, but I don’t see where he fits into the Trentino lineup as long as Vettori is there
