The USA Volleyball Beach HP U19 World Trials are set to take place in Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center from December 29-30.
Featured at the event will be two sets of siblings among the 30 team attempting to qualify for the 2018 FIVB U19 Beach Volleyball World Championships that will take place in Nanjing, China from June 26 to July 1. Twins Audrey and Nicole Nourse along with brothers Marcus and Miles Partain will take to the sand to qualify for the event.
The top finishing team will qualify for the event while the second and third-placed teams will also hold consideration for the event, should the FIVB open up a second spot for a U.S. team.
This July, the Partain brothers competed in the 2017 FIVB U21 World Championships where they took down teams from China and Canada before being knocked out by a Russian squad. The duo also became the youngest team to make the main draw of an AVP event ever, winning their three matches of the qualifier at the 2017 AVP Hermosa Beach stop as 17 and 15-year-olds.
The Nourse twins have some success heading into the U19 World Trials. Nicole finished in first place with then partner Maddi Kriz at the U17 division of the USA Junior Beach Championships while Audrey came in second with her partner, Kyle Doig.
The tournament has a qualification tournament on December 28 followed by the main draw on December 29 and 30 with four courts of play – two for each gender.
