The latest rankings are out, as we saw the biggest shift among conferences and where they sit in the rankings since very early in the year. Part of the big shift was some emergence from some midwestern/eastern teams, while a few western teams dropped off.

VM TOP 20 VM AVG. RK AVCA (15) AVCA AVG. RK
MPSF  6  9.8  5  8.0
MIVA  6  10.8  5  9.8
Big West  5  6.8  5  6.2
EIVA  3  17.3  0  —

The biggest winner for the week might have been the MIVA, with their middle team in Fort Wayne sliding up four spots in upsetting UC Irvine, who dropped a bit. That meanwhile hurt the Big West a bit, who still has the top average ranking and is just missing UC San Diego from the polls – who is on the cusp. The MIVA also benefits from McKendree being ranked now after they surged into the rankings.

In the AVCA Coaches Poll, the MPSF cuts off one of their lower teams, which causes a rise in average ranking. It also puts a tie between all three top leagues for who has the most in, while the EIVA, Conference Carolinas and Independent schools aren’t represented.
