The Women’s U20 World Championship start in a month (July 14-23) and the four pools have been revealed. Each pool consists of four countries, with the tournament taking place in Boca Del Rio, Mexico.

The United States’ path will feature Brazil, Serbia and Cuba in Pool C. The U.S. won silver at the NORCECA 2016 U20 Championship with Cuba winning the bronze. Serbia took silver at the European U19 Championship last year while Brazil finished as the runner-up in the 2015 U20 World Championship.

The team that took out Brazil in the 2015 finals was the Dominican Republic, 3-2 (17-25, 25-21, 25-17, 24-26, 16-14). They are the lead team in Pool B and are joined by China, Peru and Poland. China makes for an intriguing opponent to the defending champion Dominican Republic as they won the Asian championships.

Host Mexico joins Pool A with European U19 champions Russia and Egypt, the African champs. Bulgaria rounds out the four-team pool.

Italy and Japan are the headliners of Pool D, as Japan finished only behind China in the Asian championships. European bronze medalists Turkey along with 2017 Pan American Cup U20 silver medalist Argentina finish off the quartet.
