The upcoming 2017 Showcase Tournament is set to use the same floor as the women’s NCAA Tournament.

The floor was placed in the St. John’s Arena, where #1 Ohio State men’s team normally plays their matches. Though, not the correct Ohio State colors, the blue floor is the main color of the NCAA.
With using this floor, the reigning men’s NCAA Champions, Ohio State, could be playing their season opener on the same court they could end on. This years men’s NCAA Tournament will be held in Columbus, Ohio – same was where the women’s tournament was held.
The 2017 Showcase Tournament will feature three top-15 ranked teams – #1 Ohio State, #2 UCLA and #13 Penn State, also including USC who just picked up their first win of the season over Concordia. Also having won their first match of the season was UCLA over #11 Loyola-Chicago on the road.

The Showcase Tournament begins with Penn State vs UCLA and ends with UCLA vs Ohio State in a #1, #2 showdown to start the first official week of the men’s NCAA season.

This tournament will set the tone for the NCAA season, as Ohio State is favored to win the MIVA, while UCLA was selected to be second in the MPSF below NCAA Tournament runner-up #3 BYU.
