Defensive specialist/libero recruit Madi Berkholz has committed to the Arizona State women’s volleyball program as part of the class of 2019.
A junior at Dripping Springs High School in Texas, Berkholz helped to spearhead a 35-13 season for the Tigers as they made the 2017 UIL State Volleyball Quarterfinals. Individually, Berkholz logged 317 digs (2.8 per set) and 33 aces (0.3 per set) according to her MaxPreps profile.
On the club side of things, Berkholz plays with Austin Performance Volleyball – specifically AP 17 Black. Her recruiting page via SportsRecruits can be seen here.
Arizona State is coming off of a 10-22 season in which they started 10-2 but were winless in Pac-12 action. They possessed four libero/defensive specialists on their 2017 roster, but two were seniors who graduate prior to 2018. The other two were sophomores who are on pace to be seniors when Berkholz arrives to join them and any other newcomers at the position.
Congratulations to 17 Black libero Madi Berkholz for her verbal commitment to continue her education and volleyball career at Arizona State University. @arizonastateuniversity We are so proud of you @madisonberkholz! #apvball pic.twitter.com/vfzEQLmShp
