It is no secret that Azimut Modena’s Earvin Ngapeth is a stud on the court, putting down kills and making spectacular plays for the Italian squad. It is, however, impressive that he has 3 incredible accomplishments to his name for the 2018 season, which started just a week and a half ago.
Ngapeth’s play has helped Modena to a third place spot in the league so far, sitting behind Sir Safety Conad Perugia and Cucine Lube Civitanova. To move up in the rankings they will need the two leaders to enter into five-set matches or lose, as well as sweep their next few opponents.
Aside from that, Ngapeth is poised to impress us throughout the rest of the Serie A1 season that extends out to March 4, prior to the season-ending tournament to decide that champion.
1. Unreal Kick Save
Since the new year has begun, Modena has gone 2-1 in the Italian Serie A1, losing to Wixo LPR Piacenza in their most recent match in the league. Despite the loss, Ngapeth was able to contribute an incredible play for Modena with a kick save that set up his outside hitter perfectly for a kill.
2. Finishing A Broken Play
In Modena’s tight five-set win over Gi Group Monza, Ngapeth was able to fix a broken play with a kill to the back corner to put his team close to a first-set victory.
3. Breaking The Italian Serie A1 Serving Record
Kicking off the year was an outstanding serving performance from Ngapeth, who put down a record-breaking 12 aces in the team’s four-set win over Biosi Indexa Sora. In the match, Ngapeth put down a total of 26 points to lead all players.
