The Big 12 has recognized 60 student athletes as members of the 2016 Academic All-Big 12 Volleyball Team. 49 of those students are on the first team with a 3.20-or-better GPA, while 11 more were named as Honorable Mentions (3.00-3.19 GPAs).
Of the 60, 5 had perfect 4.00 GPAs in a relevant period: Alexis Conaway (Iowa State), Katie Brand (Kansas State), Kersten Kober (Kansas State), Katelyn Bryant (Texas Tech) and Hannah Shreve (West Virginia) represent with 4.00 grade point averages. Conaway and Brand were also Preseason All-Big 12 Selections for their play on the court. Brand is one of 10 finalists nationally for the Senior CLASS Award.
GPAs are calculated either over the last two semesters or cumulatively throughout their athletic careers, and also must have played in 60% of their team’s scheduled games (unless they’re seniors with 2+ years on the team). Freshman and first-year transfers aren’t eligible.
