The United State Boys’ Youth National Training Team has been announced, consisting of a 20-player roster. That set of players will help prepare the team and narrow down the roster to 12 to compete in the NORCECA U19 Continental Championship on June 6-10 in Costa Rica – which serves as a qualifier for the 2019 FIVB U19 World Championship.
In total, 13 of the 20 players are from California and the roster is made up of six outside hitters, four setters, five middle blockers, three opposites and two liberos. That roster can be seen below, sorted into positional groups:

Coaching that group of players will be UCLA assistant Brad Keller (head coach), LBSU assistant Nick MacRae (assistant), Penn State assistant Colin McMillan (assistant) and Ohio State assistant Kevin Burch (technical coordinator).
The team will train in Colorado Springs at the U.S. Olympic Training Center from May 25-June 4, with that cut of that eight-man-cut of the roster occurring at the tail-end. Then they will go to the NORCECA U19 Continental Championship, where they finished 15th in 2017 and second in 2016.
