The University of Houston Volleyball team announced three tournament dates as part of its spring scheduleon Tuesday morning.
“Spring volleyball is an important growth period for our team,” Head Coach Kaddie Platt said. “With these three tournaments, we will get our team live reps against some quality opponents. This will also be a good time for Abby Irvine and Gabi Zelaya, who enrolled with us in January, to get acclimated with the pace of collegiate volleyball.
“Spring practices have been super competitive, and the team is getting stronger and faster. We are getting a lot accomplished. They have really been working hard and coming together as a team. I am excited to put it all together against our opponents.”
The Cougars will kickoff the spring with a host tournament on March 24, welcoming Louisiana-Lafayette and San Jacinto College to Athletics/Alumni Center. Houston will open the tournament with San Jac starting in a 5 p.m. first serve, following with a match against ULL at 7 p.m. The matches will be three sets in a 25-25-15-point format and are free to the public.
