This year’s EIVA conference tournament semifinalist have been determined, with action beginning on April 20 at 5 PM.
EIVA Tournament Schedule
- Thursday, April 20
- 5 PM – Sacred Heart vs. Saint Francis
- 7:30 PM – Princeton vs. Penn State
- Saturday, April 22
- 7 PM -Championship Match – winner of previous matches
Penn State has claimed the #1 seed and hosting duties for the 19th consecutive season after winning the EIVA title. The Nittany Lions ended their season with a 19-10 overall record and 11-3 conference record.
The Nittany Lions will face Princeton at 7:30 PM on Thursday evening. Princeton entered the tournament with the #4 seed. Both Sacred Heart and Princeton ended the season with 8-6 conference records; however, Sacred Heart swept Princeton earlier in the year to take the #3 seed in the tournament.
On the year, the Nittany Lions have taken down Princeton each time they faced each other in five sets.
In the first match of the semifinal round Sacred Heart, who is making their first appearance in the tournament since 2010, will take on Saint Francis who posted a 15-14 overall record and 10-4 conference record for the #2 seed.
Saint Francis has taken down Sacred Heart in each of their meeting this year.
The championship match of the tournament will feature the winners of each match. The title match will be on Saturday, April 22 at 7 PM.
