Al Rayyan Wins First-Ever Arab Men’s Club Championship

In the 36th edition of the Arab Men’s Club Championships, Qatar’s Al Rayyan has won the title for the first time in the club’s history. Al Rayyan took down the home team Esperance Sportive de Tunis in a three-set sweep 3-0, (25-22, 25-18, 25-23) to take home the title.

Throughout the tournament, Al Rayyan was a force to be reckoned with, not losing a single set. Al Rayyan showed their dominance to enter the title match with a strong sweep over Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal 3-0, (25-15, 25-14, 25-18).

For the bronze medal of the competition, Al Hilal took the victory over Al-Arabi from Qatar in a hotly contested five-set match 3-2, (25-22, 25-20, 20-25, 21-25, 15-12). The Saudi Arabian team nearly blew their 2-0 match lead by letting the Qatari side fight their way back to a fifth and deciding set.

Earning the MVP spot in the tournament was Marcus Vinicius of Brazil.

Best Middle Blocker 2 – Ibrahim Mohamed Said (Al Arabi, QAT)

Best Outside Hitter 1 – Elyes Karamosly (Esperance, TUN)

Best Outside Hitter 2 – Ahmed Al Bakheet (Al Hilal, KSA)

Best Libero – Sulaiman Saed Saad (Al Rayyan, QAT)
