New Blackhawk Christian head coach, Anne Boyer, has some tough shoes to fill in her new position.

Just last month, Lindsay Roth resigned her position with the team to spend time with her family after winning the 2016 Indiana Class 1A Coach of the Year and leading the small private school to their first-ever Indiana State Championship.

Coming in to replace Roth is Boyer who most recently coached the middle school squad for Blackhawk Christian from 2012-14.

Boyer played collegiately at Taylor University. There, Boyer was a two-time National Christian College Athletic Association All-American. Boyer was also a member of the 1990 and 1991 NCCAA national championship teams.

In 2011, Boyer was inducted into the Taylor Hall of Fame.

Other coaching jobs’s Boyer has held:

  • JV, Varsity head coach at Greenbrier Christian Academy in Virginia, 1995
  • JV coach, Varsity assistant at Norwell, 2005
  • Middle school coach Blackhawk Christian, 2012-14.

Boyer will lead the program that will move up to Class 2A in volleyball following their 2016 Class 1A state championship.
