Ashley Harris, the head coach of the NAIA-affiliated Tennessee Wesleyan University women’s volleyball team, has become the school’s all-time leader in wins.
In Saturday’s 3-0 win over Truett-McConnell College, the team moved to 13-14 this season. That gives Harris 56 wins in her 4+ seasons with the team. The program’s 13 wins is already just 3 shy of her best total as head coach from the 2016 season, where the team went 16-17.
This has been all-around a banner season for the team. Earlier this year, the team won 6-straight games, which is a program record. Prior to Harris’ arrival, the team hadn’t won more than 9 games in a season dating back to the program’s launch in 2005.
Harris broke the previous record held by Toby Brooks, who was Harris’ predecessor in charge of the volleyball team. Brooks is still the head coach of the school’s softball team, a role in which he’s served for 16 seasons.
