Baylor’s Yossiana Pressley Named AVCA Player Of The Week

After two straight weeks of helping Baylor to wins, the AVCA has announced Yossiana Pressley as the AVCA Player of the Week.

Over the course of two matches, Pressley helped the Bears to two sweeps over TCU and Iowa State. Pressley averaged 5.17 kills, 1.50 digs and 5.67 points per set on the week with a .323 hitting percentage. Against TCU, Pressley put down 17 kills on a .353 hitting clip along with one ace, five digs and one block assist. Versus Iowa State, Pressley once again led the Bears with 14 kills on a .290 hitting performance with one ace, four digs and one block assist.

In addition to her strong performance, Pressley earned the Big 12 Offensive and Freshman of the week honor for the second week in a row. The feat is the first time that a player in the Big 12 has accomplished this in a single-season. Pressley’s nine conference awards in the season, breaking a single-season record.

Pressley is the third Bear to garner the award in program history, with Katie Staiger taking home the award back on September 27 of last season.
