Poli Budowlani Torun has brought in a new coach mid-season in Miroslaw Zawieracz and is no stranger to the Polish league.

Zawierac started his career as the assistant coach in Joke Piła followed by a number of head coaching positions at other clubs – Płomień Sosnowiec, Jadar Radom, PTPS Piła, BKS Bielsko – Biała. His most recent stop was with Warsaw Wisla where he was the coach from 2014-2017. With the team, Zawieracz took first and third in the first division of the Polish League. Last season was his championship year with Warsaw Wisla with his third-place finish coming the year before.

Currently, Budowlani Torun is 12th in the Polish Women’s League with a 3-8 record. This puts them in a bad position come playoffs time unless they can knock off some strong teams. This is lower than their 2016-17 finish as they went 11-15 in the league for an eighth-place finish overall.

Up next for the team will be Legionowo who sits in 13th place in the league followed by the top-dogs LKS Lodz who took over the top spot in the league after defeating Chemik Police for a perfect 11-0 record so far in the league.
