Calvin Remains #1 In DIII, Huge Changes Across Rest Of Top-25

Remaining in the #1 slot in the weeks AVCA Division III Coaches Pool is Calvin, who also received all 67 first place votes after keeping up their undefeated season with a 7-0 overall record. Calvin posted three conference wins this week with two sweeps and a four setter. Coming in at #2 this week is Southwestern (TX) who also keeps an unblemished record, moving up from #3.

After posting a perfect week one, Northwestern (MN) struggled to keep that rhythm going in week two, going 1-3 at the Augsburg tournament, falling to #10 from #2. While Northwestern fell dramatically, Juniata moved up seven spots this week from #13 to #7. Juniata is now 7-0, winning three this weekend at the ASICS Invitational to take the tournament title.

Four teams shot up into the rankings this week – MIT (#20), St. Thomas (MN) (#23), Christopher Newport (#24) and Wisconsin-Stevens Point (#25). The teams replaced Cornell (Iowa), Tufts, Ohio Northern and Elmhurst.

Making the most dramatic change this week is Mary Washington, as they fell from #7 to #22, with Wisconsin-La Crosse falling to #21 from #16 and Cal Lutheran dropping to #17 from #11.

In other large jumps this week, Hope moves to #17 from #21, Carnegie-Mellon to #16 from #24 and Gustavus Adolphus from #20 to #24.
