2017 Men’s Pan Am Cup

The 2017 Men’s Pan American Cup is just one day away, with eight teams vying for the top prize. The competition will begin on July 25 and run through July 30 when the finals and bronze medal match will be played.
In 2016, Cuba won the title over Argentina, with Canada coming in third place. Overall, Cuba has won two gold medals and one bronze medal in the competition. Team USA leads the pack with five gold medals and two silver. Argentina comes in second with total podium places with four silver and two bronze medals.

The format of the tournament will be played with three days of pool play, with the top team in each pool advancing straight to the semifinals. The second and third place teams from each pool will then compete in the quarterfinals against the opposite pool.
Point Structure
The team with the best record and most amount of points scored will move on.
Match won 3–0: 5 points for the winner, 0 points for the loser
Match won 3–1: 4 points for the winner, 1 points for the loser
Match won 3–2: 3 points for the winner, 2 points for the loser
In case of a tie, the teams were classified according to the following criteria: points ratio and sets ratio
