Following the footsteps of FIVB’s Executive Committee which recently met in Egypt to discuss the futre of the institution, The CEV Board of Administration had their first plenary meeting of the year on Saturday in Kazan to delegate on decisions and proposals in order to boost volleyball growth in the European continent. The hottest topic of the meeting was CEV’s ‘Volleyball at School’ project, which focuses on the younger generations. The institution already has contracts in place with a number of countries.

The exciting atmosphere of CEV’s Champions League Final 4 was perfect for Aleksandar Boricic to talk about the institution’s hopes for the future (CEV.lu):

“Our Volleyball family will continue to work hard together with all 56 National Federations and we will be doing so as one Volleyball team in order to raise the value and popularity of our sport at all levels.”

An additional topic of relevance for this year’s meeting was CEV’s involvement with Snow Volleyball, as the institution is arguably the only continental volleyball body currently capable of offering high level tournaments at the recent modality.

During the meeting, financial data from the 2017 season as well as the reports prepared by internal and external auditors were reviewed. The 2019 budget was drafted as well, with its approval due to follow at the CEV General Assembly in November.
