Chemik Police player, Agnieszka Bednarek-Kasza has undergone knee surgery after complaints of pain in previous practices.
Following a practice just days before the procedure, Bednarek-Kasza felt some pain in her knee. After further consultations with doctors and a few days rest, it was determined she would need surgery to repair the damage. Team doctor, Maciej Karaczun has not given an estimated amount of time that Bednarek-Kasza will be out but wants her to just concentrate on the recovery process.
Bednarek-Kasza said that the surgery went well, with her starting the rehabilitation process shortly.
With Bednarek-Kasza out for a length of time, it leaves Stefany Veljkovic with the club after contemplating leaving for the Italian Serie A1 League. Veljkovic has a contract with Chemik Police through the remainder of the season and will not be able to leave until the return of Bednarek-Kasza. Veljkovic was being eyed by Nordmeccanica Modena from the Italian side.
Currently, Chemik Police sits in second-place in the Polish League, with a 12-1 record behind LKS Commercecon Lodz. The season is half over with the final day of play for the league being on April 21.
